I was feeling pretty down yesterday...
So I resorted to drawing to release my self from that awful mood.
It worked.
I really like this piece especially since it is like... the first drawing I have ever done to really express emotion.
Sure I've done emotional pictures, but never one actually to reflect my own.
I'm happy with the anatomy, since I did it without reference (major BIGGIE for me!) and it turned out ok.
I'm happy with the water, since I suck BIG time with it...
And I'm surprised I could withstand coloring it with sucky pencil colours - you know those that mothers buy their 3 year olds in supermarkets that if you touch them with a sharpener they fall to pieces.
To sum up : Me happy now.
P.S. I understand why people go to their "happy place" when their sad, but I still find it juxtaposing with it all. This is how I can imagine it - sure you get to your "happy place" but it doesn't change reality, right?
oh this is nice.. nothin like a good drawing session to cheer us up
glad youre in a better mood
heh ive recently made a sketch of a girl in a VERY similar pose... must update my dA with it sometime.. im so lazy xD
well done anyways

DeviantART has partnered with FAIR to help promote equality through The Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project. We're asking deviants to align themselves with this cause and have their work judged by Shepard Fairey himself!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
